VERY HEAVY TRIGGERING CONTENT. READ AT OWN RISK.Simon Riley had a very traumatic childhood while growing up in Manchester, England because of his heartless father. On most days, his father brought dangerous animals back and taunted him with them, even going so far as to force him to kiss a snake or threaten to kill him with them. When he and his younger brother Tommy got older, Tommy would always wear a skull-mask at night to scare Simon. Simon's father would sometimes take him to the Bone Lickers concerts. At one concert, his father made him laugh at the death of a sex worker who was addicted to drugs.Joining the Military
Simon used to be an apprentice butcher at a grocery when he grew up. He then joined the military. He was an expert soldier which got him into the Special Air Service.Return from the Military
Simon came back home one day in January and found his family in a predicament. His mother was constantly getting cheated on and his brother was addicted to drugs. He opted not to go back to his life at the military until he fixed their lives. In March of the next year, Riley beat his father for abusing him and his mother and threw him out of the house. He then helped Tommy get rid of his drug addiction and made him marry a woman named Beth in June two years later. Riley was seen as the best man at Tommy's wedding. Beth also gave birth to a young boy named Joseph who would become Riley's nephew.Going after Manuel Roba
Simon was pulled out from shipping out for an operation in Iran and was set to take down the Zaragoza Drug Cartel that was headed by Manuel Roba. When he and his team made their move on the Day of the Dead, the commanding officer, Major Vernon, betrayed them to the enemy by getting the three of them captured and brought to a torture and brainwashing facility. There, he was driven mad and tortured. Despite the torture, Vernon was Unable to fully break Riley. Roba had Vernon killed for his failure and later buried Riley alive in Vernon's casket, leaving him to die. Using the jawbone from Vernon's rotted corpse, Riley was able to break through the casket, claw his way to freedom, and somehow make it back across the border to Texas.After four months, his injuries had healed but he still suffered from temper-management issues, which prevented him from returning to active duty. After meeting up with the other two former teammates from that mission, Kevin Sparks and Marcus Washington, he realized that Roba had broken and brainwashed them both. He attempted to kill Sparks but was forced to flee when Washington turned up unexpectedly. Fleeing, he returned home to find Washington had killed his mother, brother Tommy, sister-in-law Beth, and nephew Joseph.He killed Sparks and Washington before returning to Mexico to take down Roba once and for all. Riley ambushed Roba's right-hand man, Gilberto and tortured Roba's location out of him. Arriving at Roba's compound, he methodically eliminated Roba's guard patrols before assaulting the mansion itself and, after a prolonged gunfight, killing Roba. Armed with information on Roba's contacts and business dealings, he prepared to leave but was approached by General Shepherd who recruited him into Task Force 141.-Following the invasion of Verdansk by Al-Qatala, Riley was deployed in the city to assist the Armistice initiative against the terrorist organization supplied by Victor Zakhaev. During one of Armistice's operations, Ghost helped the Arm-4 team infiltrate the occupied Verdansk airport to retrieve a nuclear core.When Al-Qatala released toxic gas within Verdansk, Ghost discovered a chaotic situation where the operators of Armistice have turned against themselves and began targeting each other. He soon requested Price to send him reinforcements he could trust. Riley managed to escape the city and was deployed to a classified location where Price informed him that Zakhaev's plan worked, with the Armistice now officially disbanded. Ghost was assisted during this operation by Alex Keller, who was sent by Price.In December 2020, Ghost assisted Price in Verdansk to stop Zakhaev from launching the missile attack onto Verdansk. Ghost, along with Alex, Gaz, Price, Nikolai and Farah Karim communicate with Johnny "Soap" MacTavish and assist him "half a few clicks off of Verdansk's coast".

Assassination of Ghorbrani
In July of 2022, Ghost was deployed on a strike mission in the mountain desert terrain of Al Mazrah under the orders of both Laswell and General Shepherd to make visual contact on General Ghorbrani, Commander of Quds Force, Iranian Special Forces, in order to eliminate him as a potential threat while the latter was present for an arms deal with Russian Forces. Ghost confirmed the Generals presence and the green light was given to Philip Graves, Commander and CEO of Shadow Company, to launch a mobile ballistic cruise missile that completely obliterated the site of the arms deal, killing everyone including Ghorbrani which Ghost then later confirmed.Hunt for Hassan and Stolen Missiles
Several months after Ghorbrani’s death, Major Hassan Zyani, Ghorbrani’s second in command, vowed vengeance against the United States and was reported to conduct secretively activities in Al Mazrah. Ghost along with Soap and Marine Special Operations Unit were dispatched to capture or kill Hassan. After fighting through a resistance from Al-Qatala who were supposedly there to protect Hassan were in fact protecting a cargo which turned out to be an American made ballistic cruise missile. Shepherd ordered Ghost and the team to destroy the missile before evacuating Al-Mazrah.Ghost and Soap were later sent to Las Almas to meet up with Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas and Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra to hunt for Hassan whom they believed is being harbored and protected by the Las Almas Cartel with corrupt elements of the Mexican Army under the control of El Sin Nombre, leader of the Las Almas Cartel.After successfully capturing Hassan from the Cartel and Mexican military with the help from Graves and the support of Shadow Company’s AC-130 gunship, they brought Hassan in the desert to interrogate him about the whereabouts of the missiles. Hassan proved difficult to handle and were ordered to released him as his detainment was illegal.A few days later, Ghost along with Soap, Vargas and Graves were conducting over watch on a mansion belonging to one of El Sin Nombre’s lieutenant, Diego Salgado. After much discussion about getting to the cartel leader, Soap volunteered on a risky mission to infiltrate the compound with Vargas in disguised as one of the bodyguards with Ghost providing sniper overwatch and Graves on standby to snatch and grab. After they managed to captured the cartel leader who turned out to be Valeria Garza, a former member of Vargas unit, they interrogated her about the whereabouts of Hassan and the missiles and she would offer up the information in exchange for a deal of securing her release and her cartel operation to be left undisturbed.Through the interrogation of Garza, Ghost along with 141, Los Vaqueros and Shadow Company participated on a raid on an oil rig located in the Gulf of Mexico where they located and destroyed the second missile before it had the chance to launch.Betrayal of Shadow Company and Shepherd
As the team got back, they came to find out that Graves with the support from Shepherd had taken over the Fuerzas Especiales facility and began to turn on them with Vargas being captured. Ghost and Soap were forced to escape to the city and fend off any Shadow operatives hunting them before regrouping at Vargas safe house where they met up with Rodolfo and formulate a plan to infiltrate an abandoned prison, which was being used by Shadow Company as a Black Site Compound, to free Vargas and Vaqueros operatives currently being held captive before escaping with the newly arrived Price and Gaz.
It turns out Shepherd and Graves were trying to cover up their illegal activity that had occurred months earlier where Shadow Company lost possession of the missiles when they were transporting it to allies fighting Russia to a company of Russian mercenaries who later gave them to Hassan so he could exact revenge on the United States.Ghost Team
Ghost was present when Task Force 141 and Los Vaqueros formed JTF-Ghost Team. He then briefly took his mask off before donning a ghost mask with everyone before venturing off to retake the Fuerzas Especiales facility where they took out Graves and Shadow Company. They then questioned Garza again which she revealed that Hassan and the last missile were located in Chicago.Death of Hassan and Missile Threat Eliminated
As Task Force 141 with a squad of Marine Raiders moves in on Hassan with the latter having Al-Qatala protection, Ghost provided overwatch from another building. The team then rushed to take the controls after Hassan had launched the missile which was heading towards Washington D.C. and Soap managed to disarm it with the help from Laswell. He then helps guide Soap to eliminate a few AQ soldiers and rushes on time to save Soap by sniping Hassan before the latter had the chance to throw him out the window.Ghost along with Price, Gaz, Soap and Laswell were all at a bar where they discussed about events that followed after their mission in Chicago. Laswell then hands them a picture of an individual whom Price recognized as Makarov.

headcanon zero. Simon and Ghost are different personalities in the same brain.
Ghost slowly developed over time starting back to when Simon was a child. It's how he was able to handle most of the abuse thrown his way. When he was captured by the cartel and tortured, this is when Ghost became more prominent and more likely to surface over time. Ghost was the only reason he survived captivity and prolonged torture ; the only reason he was unable to be broken by Roba.
Ghost protects Simon. When given an extreme stressor or when Ghost feels like Simon is being threatened, it surfaces.
Please note that when / if talking about Ghost (which is very rare and unlikely), Simon will refer to it as "it". While he embraces Ghost as another being, he still needs that separation.headcanon one. No one calls him Simon except for the 141. Everyone else should call him “Ghost” or "Lieutenant Riley".headcanon two. He’s closed off and has a great deal of trust issues, and the only ones that know of his background are a handful (ie: Price)
Soap is his best friend and while he doesn’t make it a habit to form close connections, this was one he couldn’t help.headcanon three. He deals with a great deal of PTSD and other mental health disorders, dating back to childhood to now. He’s not going to react to certain things like most people would. Jokes that take a physical form will be dealt with according to the extreme measures of it that is dealt.headcanon four. He does not take his mask off for anyone but the 141, and rarely even then. This is nonnegotiable.headcanon five. MENTION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT: He was sexually assaulted multiple times during his capture by the cartel and this plays a great deal in his feelings towards intimacy and trust.headcanon six. INFERTILITY MENTION: He cannot have children of his own. The tortures of Roba permanently damaged a lot of things and his reproductive system is one of them. Roba wanted to make sure, with his plans of killing Simon's family later, that he could not make another one. He wanted to make Simon's life a living hell if he ever escaped.

While training in Hereford, his evaluator was Captain John Price. Recognizing his natural skills, exceptional proficiency and relentless dedication, Price became tough and strict with John to make him the best trainee. He was also trained as a sniper and demolitions expert. His remarkable speed and accuracy in room clearance and urban warfare earned him the nickname "Soap".When selection came, he passed it with the highest possible marks on all 3 phases of the course, coming just a few seconds behind the record holder, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick. He became the youngest candidate to pass the SAS selection in British Army history.For his first mission, Soap joined Price's Bravo Team, traveling to the Bering Strait to secure a cargo manifest for potential WMDs. Soap retrieved the manifest, but the vessel was scuttled by Russian aircrafts forcing the team to leave. Being the last to exfil, Soap almost fell to his death if not for Price pulling him to safety. Soap felt indebted to Price ever since. After this mission, Soap continued to carry out covert and overt operations worldwide.Soap later received a Gallantry Medal, the Victoria Cross, and the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross after an operation in Urzikstan during which his patrol was attacked by Al-Qatala. After the heavy machine gun malfunctioned, Soap stripped the weapon and reassembled it before firing 150 single shots, re-cocking the gun for every round. Soap claimed however that "any and all of his comrades would have done the same thing".Two years later, Soap almost faced disciplinary action for punching a Military Police officer, knocking him out and locking him in his own vehicle. No charges were filed to avoid embarrassment for the officer.Task Force 141
Following the death of General Roman Barkov, and under the oversight of US General Shepherd, Price established a new joint operations task force called Task Force 141 with the help of CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell. Soap was handpicked for this new task force by Price alongside Simon "Ghost" Riley and Kyle “Gaz” Garrick.Death of Victor Zakhaev
Following the fall of Armistice in Verdansk due to Victor Zakhaev's actions, Task Force 141 was charged to hunt the Ultranationalist who remained hidden in the Kastovian city. After having tracked his location, Price caught Zakhaev and neutralized him before he could launch an ICBM towards the United States. Although Soap wasn't directly involved with the death of Zakhaev, he was still in the region and contacted Price not long after as "things were heating up" outside the city.Hunt for Hassan Zyani
Raid in Al Mazrah
Soap and Ghost, along with a squad of MARSOC marines, board a helicopter and land in a field in Al Mazrah, the transport helicopter being shot down shortly afterwards. At Ghost's orders, the squad clears out a building attacking the crash site and then they proceed to the crash site. Soap, Ghost and the crash survivor defend the crash site from AQ soldiers and vehicles with help from Kilo 0-1. The team then goes to clear another building, but on the way they are attacked by snipers, which Soap kills with his EBR-14. They clear the building but don't find Hassan, and they search a nearby warehouse and find a container containing American missiles.

Assault in Las Almas
After Hassan Zyani escapes into Las Almas, Soap and Ghost meet with Los Vaqueros leader, Alejandro Vargas. They and Los Vaqueros go through the town searching for Hassan. After being attacked by the Mexican Army, Soap, Ghost and Alejandro lure them through the mountain trails and down the river while the other Vaqueros escape, Shadow-1 arriving and supporting them. The squad regroups at a possible location of Hassan, and they assault the compound with help from the Shadow-1 gunship. They capture Hassan and drive to another town, where they are again ambushed by the Mexican Army and cartel. Shadow-1 helps them to survive until extraction.Meeting El Sin Nombre
The squad and Shadow Company get intel on a cartel estate party where El Sin Nombre might be, and Soap infiltrates the estate claiming to have information. He gets interrogated by Diego and Valeria, then he is told to wait upstairs, where he links up with undercover Alejandro. He has an option to either take Diego's keycard, or go down from the roof to infiltrate the penthouse. Soap and Alejandro reach that floor and find out the identity of El Sin Nombre, revealed to be Valeria. They then capture Valeria and take her to the Fuerzas Especiales HQ, Los Vaqueros base.Stopping the missile
Valeria tells them that the missile is on an oil rig in the ocean, so the squad and Shadow Company go to the oil rig and ship to find the missile and controls. Soap and Ghost sweep the rig, but the missile controls are actually on the ship, so Soap and Graves go to the ship by boat and push up to the bridge through the containers. They clear the bridge and Soap and Graves find the missile control set just as the missile starts launching, but with Graves' instructions, Soap manages to make the missile hit the oil rig, with the oil rig team getting off the rig just in time.Betrayed
Before TF141 was returning to Fuerzas Especiales HQ, Alejandro discovers that it has been taken over by Shadow Company on Shepherd's orders and the Vaqueros are still in the base detained. Angrily confronting Graves over this action, Alejandro is knocked and slapped unconscious and captured while Soap is shot in shoulder/arm by Graves. Ghost and Soap manage to escape into Las Almas, but Soap is left wounded and unarmed. He has to work his way through Las Almas on his own, with only Ghost on the other end of his comms to keep him sane. He has many close calls, but manages to escape using guerilla warfare tactics ; ie: making smoke bombs from chemicals lying around, trip mines from mouse traps and explosives found in crates. Later, he reunites with Ghost and they both escape with a pickup truck, and drive to Alejandro's safehouse. They meet Rodolfo there and discuss their plan to break into the Prison.Rescuing Los Vaqueros
Soap, Ghost and Rudy planned to extract Alejandro and Los Vaqueros. They required more power to break into the prison, but the safehouse showed well-stocked armory and an armored vehicle, so they headed to the prison to execute their plan. They break in and head to the security room, Soap is in charge to guide Ghost through the cameras while Ghost plants charges to create diversion. They regroup and breach the prison cells, Ghost pries the cell’s lock open, Soap pushes in and immediately gets tackled by Alejandro before Rudy calms him down. They head to rescue the other trapped Vaqueros and reach the cell exit. While The Vaqueros are attacking the Prison, Price and Gaz come to assist The Vaqueros by destroying a helicopter, and deploying 2 ropes to get them out, Price ordered Gaz, Soap and Ghost to overwatch and cover fire for Vaqueros. They all exfil, and Price lets his people know the truth by Laswell.Stopping Graves
Price and his group formed up Ghost Team and launched an assault against the Fuerza Especiales, when they made into training grounds after Price's helicopter was destroyed, Ghost couldn't operate with Rudy and Soap, saying Price needs some help, making Soap and Rudy to be their own against the tank (Graves). Rudy said there's plenty of stuff around training grounds (C4s), Soap finished Graves with C4s. The two being friends, this death left a large mark on Soap.Stopping Hassan
After they retrieved Valeria, they wanted to know where Hassan and the third missile target were, Valeria gave up the Chicago location, Price passed Valeria to Alejandro, while Soap and Ghost were transported to the flight with Price to Chicago. Soap, Price and Gaz went to the tower where Hassan is located, Ghost is overwatching with a sniper rifle while Soap had to kill all enemies in order to secure hostages, then went into the server room to regroup with Price. Laswell warned the TF141 team that the missile was active, Soap and Price had to get to the Control Room and hook down.Unfortunately, the missile was launched. Price decided to stop Hassan and regrouped with Gaz to cover fire, and went to the door where Hassan was hiding, but before Soap used the snake cam, the door was breached and all were knocked down. Gaz got up and rescued Soap, while Price tried to counter fire but was wounded. Gaz rescues Price, after a while Soap rushes into the elevator and it explodes and starts falling down. This causes a fracture in his left ankle, but he keeps moving, adrenaline helping him throughout. Soap has a chance to get the missile controls from a stunned Hassan, Hassan then armed himself to attack Soap but was distracted by Gaz, letting Soap run away with missile control. When Soap gets to safety, Laswell guides Soap to detonate the missile which he does. After successfully disarming the missile, Soap killed two AQ enforcers before being shot in the arm twice and head being grazed by Hassan. Before Hassan could finish Soap off, his weapon runs out of ammo, prompting him to drag a wounded Soap to a nearby ledge. Hassan blasted a window panel open, which he then tried to throw Soap off from, but was shot and killed by Ghost before he could do so.Following this, Soap is left majorly injured and is forced to be taken to medical, hospital-ridden for several days until he’s able to move about on his own without an IV. Shortly after his release, Laswell calls them with information on a new enemy, but they quickly find out that he’s not new. Makarov. A slimy fucker. John uses the next few weeks for physical therapy and while he misses the first two missions that involve the Russians, he’s soon back out into the field and work
